The Pat Cummins-led Australian team suffered a major blow ahead of Day 2’s play of the ongoing Test against India. Ahead of the start of the play, Australian cricketer Matt Renshaw was seen with a wrapped bandage around his knee. He is said to have suffered a knee injury during the warm-up session on Day 2 of first Test.

The 26-year-old did not take the field with Ashton Agar replacing the cricketer on the field. Notably, the young cricketer has been taken to the hospital for x-rays, putting a cloud of doubt on his return in the first Test. Cricket Australia also confirmed this update via a tweet, stating, “The 26-year-old has been sent for scans after injuring his knee during the warm-up.”

It is to be noted that Australia is already missing out their first-choice all-rounder Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc after they were ruled out with respective injuries during the Boxing Day Test against South Africa. The Aussies squad were handed with another blow on the eve of the first Test after Josh Hazlewood was ruled out of the opening Test with an Achilles injury.
