But ahead of the final ODI against Australia, skipper Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah were joined by Cheteshwar Pujara on their flight to Rajkot. The Indian Test mainstay was notably en route to his hometown after he returned to Mumbai completing his stint in the County Championship Division Two.
While the Men in Blue have already sealed the series after a dominating performance over Aussies in the first two ODIs, they will aim to whitewash the visitors this time at home. While Rohit is back with the side after missing the first two matches, Bumrah missed the second ODI due to personal reasons.
Additionally, Pujara was in the news after he was handed one-match suspension after his county Sussex were docked 12 points for repeated breaches of disciplines. The cricketer did not hold back and reacted to the ECB’s announcement, stating, “Gutted to leave this way but looking back at the county season with cherished moments and unforgettable memories. Proud of the grit and character shown by this group.”
