The Australian team registered its first win in the three-game ODI against India. After losing the first two games, the Aussies won the toss and started positively with the bat. David Warner and Mitchell Marsh got behind the Indian pacers and posted a quick-fire 78 in 8.1 overs.

Though Warner departed, Steven Smith continued the attacking brand of cricket in tough conditions. Smith and Marsh batted with aggression and the duo posted 137. Marsh was then dismissed after an incredible 96 before Smith also departed for 74 but the hitting didn't stop. Marnus Labuschagne took the charge and built on this with a 72-run knock as Australia finished with a score of 352.
Like Australia, India also got off to a stunning start as Rohit Sharma took one Mitchell Starc with a barrage of sixes. Despite losing his partner, Washington Sundar, Sharma continued to play well and stitched up a decent partnership with Virat Kohli.
As this experienced duo were dismissed after scoring 50s; Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul batted well. But once again the Indian batters failed to convert their solid starts, courtesy of Glenn Maxwell, who picked up four wickets and hence fell short by 66 runs.
