After the third ODI between India and Australia, the Indian captain Rohit Sharma invited his teammate KL Rahul to collect the series trophy in the post-match presentation. Rahul led the Men in Blue in the first two games of the series where a young Indian team without veterans like Sharma and Virat Kohli, registered two big wins.
Then for the third ODI, India's as these big names returned, the Men in Blue put in a decent performance. But with a mini-middle order collapse fell short by 66 runs chasing a massive 353-run target. After this game, Rohit Sharma was called up to collect the trophy, he asked Rahul to do the honours.

Talking about India's performance, Rohit Sharma expressed elation and talked about the resilience shown in different conditions. He said, I'm pretty happy, of course, I would like to go all the way along but if I'm hitting like that I'm happy. The last 7-8 ODIs we have played really well, we have been challenged under different conditions and different teams, I thought we responded to that challenge pretty well. Unfortunately, not the result we wanted today.
"When we talk about the 15 we are very clear what we want. We are not confused, we know where we are headed as a team. It's a team sport and we want everyone to come and play their part - that's how we win championships. It's about looking after the body and try and stay fresh for the next one and half months," Sharma continued.
