Head coach of the Indian team, Rahul Dravid shared a major update on the health of opening batter, Shubman Gill, who tested positive for dengue ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 opener against Australia. The Men in Blue will be taking on the 2015 Champions at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on October 8.

Dravid was speaking at the press conference ahead of the Australia game and revealed how Gill has improved as the medical team has been monitoring him regularly. Dravid also shared that Gill isn't completely ruled out for the World Cup opener.
As quoted by RevSportz, Dravid said, "He's feeling better today and the medical team is monitoring him on a day-to-day basis. We will take a call on him later. The medical team hasn't ruled him out yet. We'll see how he feels the day after tomorrow."
Further, Rahul Dravid also talked about Suryakumar Yadav, India's middle-order player, who hasn't quite cemented his place in the playing XI. Dravid talked about how SKY's recent performance in the ODI series against Australia has given him a lot of confidence.

Dravid said, "He's always a very good player. Two good knocks and certainly he has cracked it, it happens in our country, right? It's a question of confidence that those two knocks would have given him. He is working on certain things, he's learning a few things. We have told him about finding other ways of scoring than his general route in T20s. He's in a really good space in terms of his skills."
