Indian cricket fans went berserk after the Indian batting stars started their Test season on a disastrous note. After a gap of 43 days, the Indian cricket team finally on the field while facing Bangladesh in the two-match Test series, which began on September 19 at M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. However, India’s long Test season didn’t start on a good note so far as the hosts lost three big wickets before the end of the first session. All three wickets were taken by right-arm pacer Hasan Mahmud. Earlier in the match, Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Batting first, India lost their first wicket in the form of skipper Rohit Sharma at the score of six runs while India had posted only 14 in 5.1 overs. Trying to hit the outside off delivery by Hasan Mahmud, Rohit ended up edging the ball and Shanto made no mistake in grabbing the ball in slips. After that, Shubman Gill also lost his wicket to Mahmud for a duck in the eighth over. A couple of overs later, Hasan Mahmud picked his third wicket as he dismissed Virat Kohli for just six runs and India lost three wickets for 34 runs in 9.2 overs.

India lost three wickets for Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli ahead of the end of the first sessions on day one. However, by the time of writing, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant were still on the crease taking the score forward. The fans didn’t seem happy with India’s top-order collapse against Bangladesh. They came up with different reactions on social media to share their disappointment in to the performance of star Indian batters.
One fan wrote on X(formerly known as Twitter), "3 wickets gone. Khatam hai bhaiya. Can't wait for the second Test."
