A video of Indian middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer went viral on the internet lately, where the cricketer could be seen playing with a puppy. Iyer, who was benched out after playing two matches in the Asia Cup 2023, made a solid comeback after an injury layoff in the squad. The 28-year-old was featured in the Indian team to play against Australia in a three-match series, which India managed to win 2-1. 

In the video doing rounds on social media, the youngster could be seen in a joyful mood, and he played with a puppy on the ground during his training. The heartwarming video featured the cricketer giving belly rubs to the puppy, and later he was carrying the animal in his arms. The video went viral in no time, amassing reactions from his fans.

Coming back to the player, Iyer delivered a stellar performance in the series, where his century in Indore helped the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 hosts record a 2-1 win over the Baggy Greens. Iyer, who was out of action for quite a long time made his comeback in the team for the recently concluded Asia Cup. 

The Mumbai-born cricketer was selected in the 15-member squad for the upcoming World Cup, which India will host from October 5 to November 19 across 10 venues.
