The Men in Blue will next play Netherlands in their second warm-up fixture ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. The Rohit Sharma-led side has already travelled to Thiruvananthapuram, with the match scheduled to take place on October 3 at the Greenfield International Stadium.

But as the side landed in the city, former Indian skipper and batting stalwart Virat Kohli was out of sight. As per reports quoting Crizbuzz, Kohli flew to Mumbai from Guwahati citing personal emergency. However, it added that the batter will return soon with the side ahead of their World Cup opener against Australia, but his participation in the warm-up match still remains uncertain.

A source close Cricbuzz also confirmed this development as quoted, “A source from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that he went to Mumbai for personal reasons. Virat will rejoin the team soon.”
Talking about Team India’s first warm-up match which was scheduled to take place on September 30 at the Barsapara cricket Stadium in Guwahati against England was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
