The Indian team will be elated with a 3-0 clean sweep over Sri Lanka in the recently concluded ODI series at home. The series kickstarted the Indian team’s preparation for the 2023 World Cup which will take place in India later this year.

The next assignment for the Men in Blue will be the white-ball series against New Zealand. The first ODI game is slated to be played on Wednesday (January 18) in Hyderabad. The likes of Axar Patel and KL Rahul will not be available for the team. The likes of Ishan Kishan and Washington Sundar are likely to replace them, while the rest of the players remain unchanged.

Top-order: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli

The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has looked in good touch, but will look to convert his starts and get to triple figures. His partner Shubman Gill has maintained his consistency and hit his second ODI century in the last game against Sri Lanka.

Arriving at number three, Virat Kohli emerged as Player of the Series with 283 runs in three innings against the Islanders. He will again be the key player to hold the batting line-up together.
