Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee chairman, Zaka Ashraf, has dropped a major hint about the restart of the bilateral series between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. Both these teams always draw the biggest crowds whenever they lock horns and in the recent past have only played in multi-nation tournaments like the World Cups, Asia Cups, etc.

Zaka Ashraf was speaking at a press conference in Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium alongside PCB COO Salman Naseer and League Commissioner Naila Bhatti. The trio were discussing the sale of HBL PSL broadcast and live-streaming rights as well as his tour to Australia.
Here the PCB chairman was asked about Pakistan's future tours against major cricketing nations. Ashraf spoke about certain plans and revealed that a possible series against India is also in the works as it requires government clearance.
Speaking at the press conference, the PCB chairman said, "Other countries like South Africa will also benefit from such tours so we will look to invite more countries to this plan as well. As far as India-Pakistan series are concerned, both the boards are ready to play one another as long as there is government clearance."
Addressing the PCB's relation with Cricket Australia, Zaka Ashraf shared about how the future tours between both countries will be finalised this year. Ashraf said, “We have a broad understanding of the scheduling and both the boards are on the same page. They have a scheduling committee which will finalise the plan and it will then be approved by their board. Hopefully, it will all be finalised this year.

“We have not won a Test series in Australia in the past three decades and we can only plan for the future to better that record. We want to make sure that the younger talent acclimatises to different conditions so whenever they get a chance, they do well for Pakistan at the highest level. So, planning for Under-19 and Shaheens will help with that," he added.
