The ICC T20 World Cup is set to be hosted in the West Indies and the USA in 2024. The tournament will have a total of 20 teams taking part, which are divided into four groups with each group having five teams. The forthcoming edition will be the biggest of all, where England will aim to defend their title. While the entire tournament is going to be a big one for the fans and followers, the clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is one of the most anticipated ones. The clash between the neighbours will reportedly take place on June 19 in New York.
This will be the first time the USA will host an ICC tournament to promote the sport in the country. The reports suggest that the ICC decided to schedule all India games in the USA and the high-octane clash will take place in New York. According to reports by RevSportz, the India and Pakistan clash in the ICC T20I World Cup will either be scheduled on June 8 or June 9, 2024.
However, the preference will be given to June 9, Sunday, due to the time zone difference between the USA and India. Hence, if the game is a night match, it will be broadcast early in the morning in the Indian subcontinent. However, if the encounter is scheduled for June 9 day, it will be broadcast in India in the evening, which might result in peak viewership.
The other team in the group apart from India and Pakistan is likely to be Ireland and the final fixture or schedule is expected to be announced by the next week. After India and Pakistan’s clash in 2022, which witnessed Virat Kohli’s one of the best T20I knocks, New York is expected to attract global attention.
