On Friday, October 25, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-member Indian squad for the four-match T20I series in South Africa next month. Suryakumar Yadav will continue in his leadership role of the Indian T20I setup, but he will not have the services of all-rounder Riyan Parag after the latter was ruled out of the South Africa tour due to a chronic right shoulder injury.
According to the press release from the governing body of Indian cricket, Riyan Parag is currently at the BCCI Centre of Excellence located on the outskirts of Bengaluru near the Kempegowda International airport, where he is working on the “long term resolution” of his shoulder injury. Meanwhile, Mayank Yadav, who was the part of the recently concluded three-match T20I series versus Bangladesh, and Shivam Dube, won’t be travelling to South Africa because of their respective injuries.
