After ruling the football world for almost 15 years, two of the biggest names in football, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, moved out of the European competitions to join the Saudi Arabian and American leagues, respectively. On Tuesday, reports emerged that the two football icons could face each other for the one last time as their clash is termed "The Last Dance." However, the reports were terminated soon after the MLS club's statement.

Multiple reports emerged on Tuesday that the last dance of football greatness, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, will take place in the newly-formed Riyadh Season Cup in February next year. Ronaldo and Messi last faced each other earlier this year as PSG defeated Saudi All-Stars 5-4.

Despite all the rumours, the MLS franchise have denied Inter Miami and Al-Nassr's friendly clash in the Riyadh Season Cup. MLS and Inter Miami insider Tom Bogert claimed that Messi's club called the rumours 'inaccurate', and team owner Jorge Mas "has made no comments, publicly or privately, in relation to the preseason tour."

While many fans were excited to watch Ronaldo and Messi go head-to-head for the last time, their aspiration ended with the MLS club's statement with no clarity on their clash.

In 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo has been in staggering form, scoring 46 goals and making 13 assists in his 51 appearances for his club and country. On the other hand, Lionel Messi scored 28 goals and made 12 assists in his 44 appearances in 2023, however, the 2022 World Cup winner extended his record by winning his eighth Ballon d'Or award last month.
