Analysis
The Lucknow Super Giants have built a solid team which has managed to function at the highest level despite the absence of key players like KL Rahul and Mark Wood. The Lucknow batting has been scoring a lot of runs despite the poor performances by the Indian contingent. On the bowling front, Ravi Bishnoi has managed to resurrect himself after a down phase while the likes of Yash Thakur and Mohsin Khan have continued to exceed expectations and perform well in crunch moments.
On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians pulled off a big comeback after a dismal 2022 season and a disappointing start to this year for making it into the playoffs. For the five-time champions, their batting unit has been their biggest strength with each and every batter contributing to wins. Whereas with the ball, MI still needs improvement, something which has been evident as the 2023 season has progressed, especially with some quality performances by Jason Behrendorff, Kumar Kartikeya and Akash Madhwal.
