Right-after the T20 World Cup 2022, IPL 2023 mini-auction will be the next big event for the cricket fraternity. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided December 16 as the date for the auction and ahead of that the franchises need to submit their retention list by November 16.

While few franchises are making swift moves to form their formidable squad for IPL 2023, Punjab Kings have been making some significant changes in their top-brass hoping to get some better results.

According to fresh reports, Punjab Kings is of the opinion to release their former captain Mayank Agarwal (INR 12 Crore), Caribbean all-rounder Odean Smith (INR 6 Crore), and Shahrukh Khan (INR 9 Crore) following their poor performance in IPL 2022. Meanwhile, the franchise is looking to rope in prolific all-rounder Ben Stokes, England pacer Sam Curran and Australia's Cameron Green.

As per Cricbuzz report, newly appointed head coach Trevor Bayliss is keen on having Englishmen for the upcoming season as he eyes better results from the franchise. Notably, England Test skipper Ben Stokes pulled himself out of the mega-auction for IPL 2022 stating Test cricket to be his priority, while Sam Curran could not participate due to injuries.

Following yet another poor performance in IPL 2022, Punjab Kings is in the middle of another overhaul as they have appointed Shikhar Dhawan as the skipper, and earlier sacked Anil Kumble and Jonty Rhodes from the coaching staff. South Africa bowling coach Charl Langeveldt alongside Brad Haddin has joined Chief Coach Trevor Bayliss as part of the support staff of Punjab Kings (PBKS).
