The match 42 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 saw the Kolkata Knight Riders host the Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday, April 26. The match saw records shatter once again as the Sam Curran-led side registered an eight-wicket win over KKR.

Earlier in the match, Curran won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first. On the back of a 37-ball 75 from Philip Salt and a 32-ball 71 from Sunil Narine, helped KKR put up 261/6 in the 20 overs. But with Prabhsimran Singh playing a 20-ball 54 up the order and then Jonny Bairstow stitching a crucial partnership with Rilee Rossouw and Shashank Singh, helped PBKS register their third win of the season and register the highest-ever successful run chase in IPL history.
