Mumbai Indians batter Tim David and Batting Coach Kieron Pollard have been fined for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct during their team’s Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Punjab Kings at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur on April 18.

During the joint-record five-time IPL champions' home win against the Punjab Kings,  Mumbai Indians were accused of DRS cheating. Hours after the match, a few clips started going viral on social media, and fans accused MI of ‘DRS Cheating’. In the visuals, MI’s Tim David could be seen signalling for a DRS review before realising he was on the camera.  Punjab Kings’ stand-in captain Sam Curran was also seen opposing the on-field umpire; however, no action was taken.

David and Pollard committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.20 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. David and Pollard were each fined 20 percent of their respective match fees. Both admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding.

In the IPL 2024 points table, Mumbai Indians, who lost their first three matches in the IPL 2024, have managed the seventh spot with three wins in their last four matches. Hardik Pandya-led side will next travel to the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Mumbai to face the inaugural IPL champions, Rajasthan Royals on Monday.
