The Delhi Capitals Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly shared a major update on the availability of Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh for the game against Mumbai Indians. Marsh has been an integral member of the Delhi set-up in the 2024 season with the Aussie playing in the top order and a pace-bowling option in the middle overs.
In the 2024 season for the Capitals, Mitchell Marsh has found starts but failed to convert them into massive scores by scoring 61 runs at an average of 15.25 at a strike rate of 160.52. Whereas with the ball, Marsh has picked up one wicket in eight overs.

But ahead of the Mumbai game, Sourav Ganguly confirmed that "Mitchell Marsh is injured," as per Sportstar. The former India captain also shared an update on the fitness of DC spinner Kuldeep Yadav as he said, " He will undergo a fitness test for a groin stiffness during training and by evening we'll know about his availability."

Further in the press conference, Sourav Ganguly also spoke about young Indian uncapped star Kumar Kushagra, who was bought for INR 7.2 crore. The 19-year-old from Jharkhand hasn't featured in IPL 2024 and Ganguly revealed that the team is planning to give him a chance.
The former BCCI president gave the example of another uncapped star Sameer Rizvi, who plays for the Chennai Super Kings, as a template to play Kushagra. Ganguly said, "We are looking to give him an opportunity. Chennai have created a slot for Rizvi, we are also trying to do the same with Kumar Kushagra."
