The much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 schedule is finally out. The tournament opener will see defending champions Chennai Super Kings host Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 22. While this comes as a surprise as runners-up Gujarat Titans will not feature in the tournament opener, but will play Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians on March 24 in Ahmedabad.

As the IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal confirmed, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has just announced a partial schedule. The board has announced the schedule for only the first 17 days, which is from March 22 to April 7. Moreover, during the course of 17 days, 21 IPL matches will be played with four double-headers. The first double-header will be played on Saturday, March 23. It will see Punjab Kings take on Delhi Capitals in Monali while KKR will take SRH in the second match of the day on Kolkata.
