The 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to get underway with the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ahead of the opening clash, the broadcasters got into the heat of the moment as a glitch sparked massive controversy.

The tournament found itself at the centre of controversy after an apparent technical glitch during the live broadcast. As got into the attention of several viewers, the live stream briefly displayed a scorecard with a toss result even before the coin flip took place at the venue.

Is IPL fixed? Fans claim fixing ahead of KKR vs RCB opener

Seeing this become a major talking point, fans and cricket enthusiasts claimed fixing in the tournament. A Twitter user captioned a post, “IS IPL FIXED?? HUGE MISTAKE BY @IPL! The scorecard was shown by mistake, which can be ignored, but it had THE TOSS RESULT WRITTEN ON IT… Match fixing or human error?”

While another user came at IPL’s defense as he claimed that this was part of a routine test. “Scorecard testing ho rhi hai bhai,” one wrote ("They are testing the scorecard, brother"), a user added.
