The defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders are having a mixed season far in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The three-time champions, who entered the 2025 edition after claiming their third IPL title under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy in 2024, are struggling to get the perfect combination to tick in, in order to get to winning ways. However, they are currently placed at the fifth position in the points table after two wins and two losses in four games.
While they will aim to continue their winning momentum when they host the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in an afternoon match in one-off double-header Tuesday on April 8. However, both teams will be high on confidence as they are coming off a win in their respective last matches. However, these two sides have played only five matches so far in the tournament history, the Lucknow-based franchise have an upper hand with a 3-2 margin against the Knight Riders.

Talking about the weather for the afternoon match of the Tuesday’s double-header at the Eden Gardens, it is expected to be very humid and breezy with the temperature hitting 35 degree Celsius, according to the listings on Accuweather. The probability of precipitation on Tuesday, April 8 stands at 25 per cent and humidity stands at 51 per cent.
During the upcoming match in the IPL 2025 in Kolkata against LSG, there will be wind gusts of around 30 km/h in the afternoon, which could help in taking the rain showers away from the venue. If not, then the fans could expect some light showers and rain interruption in play at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on a Tuesday afternoon.
