The highly anticipated IPL 2025 mega auction, which will decide the fate of 574 shortlisted players, is currently underway at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With just 204 slots up for grabs, including 70 overseas ones, only a select few out of 366 Indian and 208 overseas players will be picked by the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams for the 2025 season. Adam Zampa, who is one of the sought after players in the mega auction, has been signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 2.40 Crore.

Adam Zampa has argubly been the best spin bowler in the limited overs format for Australia in the last decade or so, playing a key role in helping them win the ODI World Cup 2023 and T20 World Cup 2021. His ability to be consistent bowler across phases in both the ODI and T20I formats, curtailing the oppositon apart from picking up key wickets, make him a valuable asset for any team he plays in.

Adam Zampa’s IPL Career

Adam Zampa made his IPL debut in 2016 and since then, he has played 20 matches to date with a total of 29 wickets. The Aussie averages at 19.24 and conceded 7.99 runs per over with the best individual figure of 6/19. While Zampa last played for Rajasthan Royals, he has also been a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2020, apart from playing for Rising Pune Supergiants in the 2016 and 2017 IPL seasons.

In the 2016 season, Adam Zampa picked up the second-best figures for any bowler in the league when he recorded 6/19 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. But, all in all, the IPL career of the Australian leg spinner has been a stop start one, but he could get consistent game time at the Hyderabad frachise if the ptiches at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium provides help to the spinners.
