The highly anticipated IPL 2025 mega auction, which will decide the fate of 577 shortlisted players, is currently underway at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With just 204 slots up for grabs, including 70 overseas ones, only a select few out of 367 Indian and 210 overseas players will be picked by the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams for the 2025 season. English all-rounder Sam Curran has recently been sold to Chennai Super Kings for INR 2.40 Crore for the upcoming season. 

Sam Curran is set to join CSK again after being a part of the franchise in IPL 2020 and 2021. He turned out to be one of the most expensive player in IPL after Punjab Kings bought him for a whopping INR 18.50 Crore in the IPL 2023 auction. Now, there has been a huge drop in his IPL salary as CSK now bought him back in the squad for INR 2.40 Crore for the upcoming season. 

Sam Curran IPL career

Sam Curran made his IPL debut for Punjab Kings after the franchise bought him for INR 7.20 Crore ahead of IPL 2019. The English all-rounder can serve as a fiery middle-order batter and can also play as a spearhead fast bowler. He was a part of CSK’s title winning campaign in 2021 and will look to help the franchise to lift their sixth title in IPL 2025. 

Sam Curran has played 59 matches in his IPL career so far scoring 883 runs with the bat at a strike rate of 136.47. Apart from that, the left-arm fast bowler has also scalped 58 wickets in his IPL career so far.
