The highly anticipated IPL 2025 mega auction, which will decide the fate of 577 shortlisted players, is currently underway at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With just 204 slots up for grabs, including 70 overseas ones, only a select few out of 367 Indian and 210 overseas players will be picked by the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams for the 2025 season. Young Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar recently got sold to Gujarat Titans for INR 3.20 Crore.

Washington Sundar was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the mega auction after playing just two games for the franchise in IPL 2024. In the IPL 2025 mega auction, Gujarat Titans opened the bid for the Indian all-rounder and were soon joined by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Now, he will seen taking charge for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025. He can turn out to be a useful addition for the Titans, who can bowl spin and make quick runs in the middle-order. He recently also showed great form in the Test series against New Zealand. 

Washington Sundar IPL Career

Washington Sundar began his IPL career in 2017 after Rising Pune Supergiants bought him for INR 10 Lakh. In the very next year, he was sold to Royal Challengers Bengaluru for INR 3.2 Crore ahead of IPL 2018. After four years with RCB, Sundar was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 8.75 Crore ahead of IPL 2022. Now, the spin all-rounder is set to play for his fourth IPL franchise in 2025.
