With just 204 slots up for grabs, including 70 overseas ones, only a select few out of 366 Indian and 208 overseas players will be picked by the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams for the 2025 season. South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada turned out to be one of the top overseas buys in the auction as Gujarat Titans acquired his services for INR 10.75 Crore.
Kagiso Rabada was one of the big overseas names in the IPL 2025 mega auction after getting released by Punjab Kings. He will now be seen as a fast bowling spearhead in the squad of the 2022 IPL winners. Titans acquired the services of the pacer after engaging in a bidding war with Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Kagiso Rabada IPL Career
Kagiso Rabada kickstarted his IPL career in 2017 after Delhi Daredevils (now knowns as Delhi Capitals) roped him in for INR 5 Crore. After five years with DC, Rabada joined Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2022 as the franchise acquired his services for INR 9.25 Crore. The right-arm has taken 117 wickets in 80 matches of his IPL career so far at an average of 21.96. The South African pacer took 11 wickets in 11 matches in IPL 2024 at an average of 33.81. Now, Rabada will be seen playing for his third franchise in IPL 2025.
