Mumbai Indians, the five-time IPL champions, retained their core group of experienced players ahead of the mega auction for the 2025 season of the tournament. The star quartet of the captain Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav have stayed with the franchise alongside youngster Tilak Varma for the IPL 2025, and Mumbai Indians team management will be planning to build a strong squad with INR 45 Crore purse in the mega auction.
With an option to retain a maximum of six players, Mumbai Indians kept five of the top performers for the franchise, giving themselves the option of one Right-To-Match (RTM) card, to buy back another player in the mega auction. Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian cricketing superstar, who has received INR 18 Crore, to become the first retained player of Mumbai Indians, is widely considered as a steal in cricketing circles, with his worth far superseding his current retention price.
The likes of captain Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav have both signed contracts worth INR 16.35 Crore with Mumbai Indians, while the former captain Rohit Sharma will be earning INR 16.30 Crore for his involvement in the IPL in the 2025 season.
