Zimbabwe T20I skipper Sikandar Raza has been in one of his best forms at the ILT20 2024, while plying his trade for the Dubai Capitals. Raza smashed a six off the last ball in Dubai Capitals’ last league stage fixture to help the side seal their playoffs berth and progress further in the competition.
Speaking on the sidelines of ILT20 2024, Raza was also asked about the other T20 leagues around the world. However, the cricketer didn’t mince his words as he highlighted on his preparations going for the IPL. When asked being about the preparations going into the IPL, he said, “my preparation to IPL will be playing ILT20 and PSL and that. I mean, you cannot substitute game time. I think that should be the best preparation one can have before an IPL.”
While speaking about the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Zimbabwean all-rounder heaped praise of the cash-rich league, calling it the biggest in the planet. “IPL is by far the best league when it comes to PSL also. Like, it is much better than PSL. That’s what I’m trying to say. Yeah, I’m not a big fan of comparisons. But yes, it is. I think IPL is the biggest league on the planet,” Raza said in an interview to SportsNow.
Speaking of Raza, the 37-year-old was roped in by Punjab Kings (PBKS) ahead of IPL 2023 for a prize of INR 50 Lakh. In the 2023, he became the first Zimbabwe player to make an appearance in the cash-rich league since 2011.
Reece Topley to miss PSL 2024; doubtful for IPL 2024: Reports
According to recent reports, England pacer Reece Topley is likely to miss the 2024 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). If reports are to be believed, the pacer hasn’t been granted NOC from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as he is carrying an injury.
Moreover, the reports further add that he is likely to be doubtful for IPL 2024.
