After the conclusion of the IPL 2024 league stage, the action will now shift to the much-awaited knockout stage. While the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were the first team to seal the playoffs berth and consolidate their position at the top of the table, Rajasthan Royals became the second to join them after Delhi Capitals (DC) beat the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
The two teams were then joined by Pat Cummins-led SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) sealed the final berth after a convincing 27-run win against reigning champions in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and register their sixth win on the trot.
But with Shreyas Iyer-led KKR sealing a spot in the Qualifier 1 and RCB all set to play in the Eliminator, it all came down to the final day of the league stage with SRH taking on PBKS and RR hosting the KKR in Guwahati. However, SRH’s four-wicket win solidified their position at the second place in the points table, RR’s match against KKR getting washed out forced them to play the Eliminator against RCB.
With rain coming into play in the final few matches of IPL 2024, the question now comes that if the IPL 2024 playoffs have a reserve day.
Is there a reserve day for IPL 2024 Playoffs?
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has put a reserve day for the knockout stage of IPL 2024. The final four matches of IPL 2024 will be played in Ahmedabad and Chennai and have a reserve day.
