The Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians (MI) are reeling at the bottom of the points table after suffering three straight losses in the IPL 2024. While they lost their opening match against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad, they then succumbed to the challenges posed from SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR).
After their third straight loss, which came on April 1 at the Wankhede Stadium, the five-time champions reintroduced their punishments. It is to be noted that MI punishes their players, who are late to team meetings, taking a funny jibe at them. After their loss against RR, the MI punished four of its players and offered them to wear superhero jumpsuits.
In the video shared by MI with the caption reading, “Punishment jumpsuits are back” saw Ishan Kishan, spinner Kumar Kartikeya, Shams Mulan and Nuwan Thushara as they took off for Jamnagar to spend some time off their cricketing schedule.

Speaking of MI’s last fixture where they hosted Rajasthan Royals, the Sanju Samson-led side invited the hosts to put the score first on the board. The five-time champions posted 125/9 in their stipulated 20 overs after a decent knock from skipper Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma. In pursuit of the 126-run target, the RR sealed victory with more than four overs to be spared on the back of an unbeaten 54-run knock from Riyan Parag.
The Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians will next play Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, April 7.
