After FC Goa acquired the services of their Manolo Marquez, whose deal expires on May 31, 2023, Hyderabad FC are all set to appoint Conor Nestor as his successor. According to a source, Nestor has agreed to a one-year contract and it will be announced very soon by the club.
The 2021-22 champions came a long way under Manolo Marquez as the Spanish coach built this team from the ground up and Conor Nestor will be expected to keep up the standards. The young coach has worked with the UK Elite Soccer and was a developing officer for FA Ireland. The Irish coach is currently the head coach of the Cambodian club Svay Rieng and since taking charge in 2018 he has won the Championship in the 2018-19 season and has a great track record in continental competitions. Hyderabad are currently participating in the Super Cup under Marquez who will leave after the competition.
The young coach will acquire a great team that finished second in the league this season and won the title last season. The Limerick man has worked with many young players before and can be the ideal coach for the Nizams who have a very young squad with an average age of 26.1.
