Former India opener Virender Sehwag replied to former all-rounder and teammate Yuvraj Singh's idea of repeating the 2011 World Cup win. Earlier, Singh had tweeted and questioned whether India would be able to perform under pressure. The Indian stalwart replied that India would lift the trophy at home and perform like true champions.

Sehwag presented his odds by stating that in the last 12 years, the hosts of the ICC ODI World Cup have been winning the cup. And according to that, India is set to win the third ODI World Cup. Sehwag also stated that the Men in Blue will perform like true champions.

The 44-year-old tweeted, "(Yuvraj Singh) ayi baat pressure ki, toh iss bar hum pressure lenge nahi, denge! Like champions!  Peechle 12 saal mein, host team world cup jeeti hain!  2011 – We won at Home  2015 – Australia won in Australia  2019 – England won in England  2023 – Hum Toofan Machayenge!"

Yuvraj Singh stated that the team had performed under pressure during the 2011 World Cup and shone. The 41-year-old then questioned the mettle of the current team and asked whether they would be able to perform under pressure and become 'Game Changers'.

Singh had tweeted, " We all want a repeat of 2011 in #ICCWorldCup23 BUT  In 2011 #TeamIndia shined under pressure.  In 2023, Again, the team is under pressure to perform.  Do we have enough time to turn this around?  Can we use this pressure to become a ‘Game changer’"

Notably, both Yuvraj and Sehwag were a part of the ICC ODI World Cup 2011 winning squad. Coming back on this year's edition, on September 5, Tuesday, the  BCCI announced India's 15-member  squad for the upcoming marquee event, which will commence on October 5. The season inaugural will be a rematch of the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup and will be played between the reigning champions England and New Zealand.
