The Mumbai Indians Women have dominated the inaugural edition of Women’s Premier League. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side made their way into the finals of the inaugural edition after beating UP Warriorz in the Eliminator on March 24 (Friday) at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy. While it was Nat-Sciver Brunt who starred with the bat for the MI Women, England bowler Issy Wong did the rest with the ball.

The 20-year-old England pacer became the first bowler to take a hattrick in the WPL. She accomplished this feat in the Eliminator after dismissing UP Warriorz Kiran Navgire, Simran Shaikh and Sophie Ecclestone.
It is to be noted that the England pacer was acquired by MI Women for a price of INR 30 Lakh. She currently stands fifth in the tally of highest wicket-takers, with 12 scalps in nine matches at an economy of 5.89 and strike rate of 14.25.
