Bukayo Saka, the English and Arsenal winger, spoke about his enforced break due to injury, stating that it was a really good thing for him mentally ahead of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid at the Emirates Stadium in London. On his return to action last week, the 23-year-old scored a goal against Fulham during Arsenal’s 2-1 win at home, showcasing his ability to turn it on from the get-go.
In the weekend clash against Everton in the Premier League away at the Goodison Park, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta introduced Bukayo Saka in the second half, giving him 45 minutes of football. Although the contest ended in a 1-1 draw, the youngster looked quite impressive on the field, which will bode well for them in the UCL match at home against Real Madrid.
During his latest interview, Bukayo Saka spoke about feeling refreshed for the next challenge coming Arsenal’s way at the Emirates Stadium in London. He was quoted as saying, as per BBC Sport, “I think mentally it was really good for me.. Obviously it was really tough for me initially to find out the extent of my injury and that I was going to have surgery but once it was done and successful I was just focused on coming back stronger.”
“The past five years I've been playing game after game so it was the first proper break I've had. It was really good for me. I got to do a lot of things that I don't normally do.. It's really nice to be back and I feel fresh mentally,” Bukayo Saka added. Moreover, he is going to be starting his final two years of the current contract with Arsenal next year, and he spoke about feeling happy to be at the club, wanting to win trophies wearing their badge.
