Ferrari have unveiled a special livery for their home race this weekend at Monza to celebrate 75 years of their car company. The vehicles of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will have splashes of yellow. The new design includes yellow on the fin, rear wing, and front wing along with highlights on the race numbers. Meanwhile, the drivers' race suits and the team's hospitality and garage will also be coloured to match the Italian Grand Prix weekend.

The team has adopted a yellow-coloured theme because Ferrari say yellow is their "second colour" as it is one of the colours of their home town Modena. As well as it is also present in the background for their iconic prancing horse logo, which made its debut on Enzo Ferrari's Alfa Romeos in the 1938 Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hours and has been used on Ferrari cars ever since. This year also marks 100 years since the Monza circuit was constructed.

Can a change of colour bring back luck for Ferrari?

With the team adopting a new colour for their home race, they will be hoping for a change in luck as well. Ferrari have not had success since a win in Austria. Their drivers have consistently made good starts but the desired finish is what is lacking for Ferrari. Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc had a great start to the season with three back-to-back podium finishes for at least one of them.

Sainz has been more consistent in terms of securing the top three position in the F1 2022 season so far and the team will hope for a good show from the Mexican yet again. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc will be expected to repeat the heroics of 2019 where he reigned supreme at Monza.
