KKR hosted Punjab Kings in the 42nd match of the 17th edition of the IPL at the Eden Gardens on April 26, Friday. Punjab’s stand-in captain Sam Curran won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first. KKR’s openers Sunil Narine and Phil Salt were in their best form as they gave the side an explosive start.
Phil Salt came up with a remarkable knock of 75 runs off 37 deliveries, combined with six boundaries and six towering maximums. Narine, on the other hand, contributed a total of 71 runs off 32 deliveries, combined with nine boundaries and four maximums.
Fans took to social media to heap praise on KKR openers and laud their batting prowess.
Narine and Salt’s gameplay helped KKR post a target of 261 runs with the loss of six wickets.
