With the talks around the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 intensifying, all ten franchises are looking to get the services of the best possible talent, be it in terms of the players or coaching staff. Ahead of the IPL 2025, the three-time winners and defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are looking in to sign former South Africa cricketer and star all-rounder Jacques Kallis.

However, an official update on the same hasn’t been communicated by the franchise, but the IPL 2024 winners will be looking to get the services of the best talent after Gautam Gambhir’s departure. Notably, the Shah Rukh Khan co-owned franchise had to let go off the services of former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir as he was roped in as Team India’s Head Coach, succeeding Rahul Dravid, who ended his tenure with the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph in June.

Jacques Kallis likely to join KKR as mentor ahead of IPL 2025

Reports from Hindustan Times have suggested that the Kolkata-based franchise is eyeing to secure the services of the South African great as their mentor. Moreover, it is to be noted that Kallis was part of the purple and gold donning side in their two title triumphs in 2012 and 2014.

Furthermore, it is to be seen that Kallis will not be a new face in the KKR coaching staff as he has previously served as the batting coach in 2015. He then took over the charge as KKR Head Coach after Trevor Baylis’ exit.
