Jamshedpur FC football club received an hostile reception at Salt Lake Stadium ahead of the second leg semi-final of the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25. Notably, on the eve of the semi-final against Mohun Bagan which currently going on at the same ground.

As reported by the Bridge, the Jamshedpur FC team was initially denied entry at the stadium by the guard. Apart from that, a man who was reportedly from the Mohun Bagan camp shouted that the team wouldn’t be allowed in the stadium. “He was the one who was shouting that we will not let the team enter the stadium or something like that,” a source told the Bridge. “It was someone from the management.

Jamshedpur FC given threats with metal pipes

Notably, Jamshedpur FC could only train for one hour at the Salt Lake Stadium as they repeatedly asked to leave the stadium. Things got more serious that the officials from the ISL had to be called to escort Jamshedpur FC members safely for the press conference. Although there were no physical altercations, some of the individuals were seen with metal pipes in their hands giving a threat to the Jamshedpur FC players.

Stating further, the source said that it was a deliberate attempt to make the players uncomfortable ahead of the big semi-final. “Players need time after training to shower, change, and take recovery ice baths. But they were constantly pressured to leave. It felt like a deliberate tactic to make the team uncomfortable,” the source said.
