The newly elected ICC Chairman, Jay Shah has seen immense growth in his career in the last few years. He will start his tenure as the ICC Chairman on December 1, 2024, replacing Greg Barcley of New Zealand. Jay Shah is son of Amit Shah, an Indian politician and the member of Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as an executive board member of the Central Board of Cricket in Ahmedabad from 2009 to 2013. After that, he went on to become joint secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association and oversaw the construction of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
In 2015, Jay Shah became a member of the finance and marketing committees in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He took over the role as BCCI Secretary in 2019 when the former cricketer Sourav Ganguly was also elected as a BCCI President. Jay Shah took over the role as a President of the Asian Cricket Council in 2021 and was also re-elected as BCCI Secretary in 2022.
Now, Jay Shah has been elected unopposed as the next Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). However, he has also served in multiple roles with the ICC before where he was elected as ICC Board Member Representative and the head of Finance and Commercial Affairs in the year 2022.

Jay Shah boasts a net worth of around ₹124 Crore with most of his income coming as a cricket administrator for his multiple roles in BCCI, ICC and Asian Cricket Council. He earns around ₹84,000 daily for international meetings, plus travel and stay allowances as BCCI Secretary. However, for meetings in India, Jay Shah receives around ₹40,000 daily along with the travel in business class. His exact salary in the BCCI or ICC hasn't been revealed yet.
