Punjab Kings’ wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma faced the wrath of MS Dhoni fans after he ran out the CSK wicketkeeper in their recent meeting. Chennai Super Kings engaged in a high-octane clash against the Punjab-based franchise at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 1, Wednesday. The match saw the reigning champions on the receiving end of a seven-wicket defeat to the PBKS, led by Sam Curran.
MS Dhoni walked out to bat when there were more than two overs left for CSK’s innings. The former CSK captain was dismissed on the final ball of the innings after he scored 14 runs off 11 balls. The 42-year-old played a full toss from Arshdeep Singh to the fielder standing at short third man. Before he could complete his second run, the PBKS star collected the ball and threw it directly hitting the bails and dismissing Dhoni.

The 30-year-old faced the wrath of MS Dhoni fans, who took to social media to abuse him for running the CSK legend out. Dhoni fans filled Jitesh’s Instagram comment section with negative remarks. Coming back to the game, CSK registered their fifth defeat of the season and continues to hang out at the fourth spot on the standings.
On the flip side, PBKS sit in seventh place with four wins in ten games they have played in the 2024 season thus far. They are only above Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
