Cricket South Africa is all set to roll on the second edition of the SA20 after the completion of the inaugural one earlier this year, which saw the Sunrisers Eastern Cape lift the title. The next season is set to kick off on January 10, 2024 with the last season semifinalists in Joburg Super Kings taking on the title winners Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

Ahead of the start of the 2024 edition, the Faf du Plessis-led side on Wednesday, 27 September confirmed their lineup for the next season at the SA20 Player Auction in Johannesburg. The side roped in Ronan Herrmann as the Rookie Player with Wayne Madsen, Dayyaan Galiem and Romario Shepherd being the other prominent signings.
The side also added recent CPL 2023 winner and former South Africa cricketer Imran Tahir as their wildcard pick.
The Joburg Super Kings fell short against Eastern Cape in the last edition in what was a close match. After inviting the Aiden Markram-led side to bat first, the skipper charged a carnage scoring a century and taking the side total to 213/5 in 20 overs. With Reeza Hendricks also scoring 96 off 54 deliveries in a do-or-die match, the Kings missed the final pot by 14 overs. However, they might aim to replicate their last season heroics to lift the title.
