The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) on Tuesday, 9th January announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Asian Indoor Athletics Championships 2024. The Asian tournament is set to be played in Tehran, Iran from 21st February 2024.
With the AFI naming the squad, Jyothi Yarraji is set to spearhead the side with the likes of Tajinder Pal Singh Toor, Harmilan Bains, Shaili Singh some notable faces. Asian champion Tajinder Pal Singh Toor, who was the only gold medal winner at the last edition, will aim to defend his title in shot put, Jyothi Yarraji and Pavithra Venkatesh will aim to better their previous edition performances.
India won a total of eight medals in the last edition with one gold, six silver and one bronze. They finished at the sixth position in the medal tally.
