Karachi Kings have bolstered their squad for the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by signing Australian wicketkeeper-batter Ben McDermott. The dynamic right-hander joins the Kings as a replacement for Bangladesh’s Litton Das, who was unfortunately ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. Litton, who was picked in the Silver Category during the PSL 2025 draft, suffered a hairline fracture to his right thumb during a practice session ahead of Karachi Kings' opening fixture. The injury came as a significant blow for the franchise, given Litton’s ability to provide stability at the top of the order and his valuable experience behind the stumps.
With limited time to find a suitable replacement, Karachi Kings moved swiftly to bring in McDermott, a seasoned campaigner with vast experience in T20 leagues worldwide. Ben McDermott’s inclusion is seen as a major boost for the Kings. Known for his aggressive batting style and clean ball striking, the Australian has consistently performed in competitions like the Big Bash League (BBL) and The Hundred. His ability to open the innings or play as a flexible middle-order option gives the Kings valuable depth and firepower. In addition to his batting prowess, McDermott’s wicketkeeping skills will ensure the Kings maintain a strong presence behind the stumps in the absence of Litton Das.

Alongside McDermott, the Kings have also roped in Pakistan U19 captain Saad Baig as a partial replacement for New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, who will miss the Karachi leg of the tournament. Baig, an emerging talent in Pakistan cricket, is expected to gain valuable experience from the high-pressure environment of the PSL.
Karachi Kings are set to kick off their PSL 10 campaign on Saturday, April 12 against Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium. With McDermott’s arrival adding firepower and balance to the lineup, the Kings will be hopeful of making a strong start to their season and pushing for a deep run in the tournament.
