On Monday, June 3, Kedar Jadhav announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in a post on his social media accounts, thanking fans for their love and support throughout his cricketing career. The 39-year-old, who was a regular feature in the Indian team during the height of his career from 2016-2018, played 73 ODIs and nine T20Is in total.

Kedar Jadhav made his debut in international cricket on November 16, 2014, in an ODI against Sri Lanka at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. He went on to score 1,389 runs at an average of 42.09 and a strike-rate of 101.60 in a difficult role of consolidating the innings in the latter overs, apart from picking up vital wickets, 27 of them at an economy of just 5.15.

The last appearance for Kedar Jadhav in ODIs happened against New Zealand at the Eden Park in Auckland in February 2020. Meanwhile, in his nine T20I appearances, the right-handed batter accumulated 122 runs at a strike-rate of 123.23 with a fifty.

One of the greatest moments in the international career for Kedar Jadhav in his ODI career happened in his hometown in Pune. When India were in a spot of bother during their pursuit of a 351-run target against England at the MCA Stadium, he stitched together a 200-run stand with Virat Kohli, completing his hundred in the process, to help the team achieve a famous win.

Kedar Jadhav featured in the IPL from 2010 to 2023, missing only a couple of seasons, while playing for teams like Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. His only IPL triumph came in the year 2018 with Chennai Super Kings, despite the fact that he had to miss out on playing most of the tournament due to an injury.

In domestic cricket, Kedar Jadhav represented Maharashtra for 16 years, from 2007 to 2023, scoring a truckload of runs in all formats. Moreover, Kedar Jadhav is currently active in the cricket commentary scene, providing his valuable inputs in the IPL 2024 season in Hindi and Marathi on JioCinema.
