The three-time Serie A footballer of the year, Zlatan Ibrahimovic took everyone by surprise on Sunday night as he announced his retirement with immediate effect following AC Milan's clash against Hellas Verona. The Rossoneri ended their league season in the fourth spot while the Swedish forward made announcement to hang his boots ahead of Milan's final game of the season.
Milan defeated Hellas Verona 3-1 as Rafael Leao scored a brace while Olivier Giroud put one at the back of the net from the spot. After the match, Zlatan announced his retirement and frustrated away fans kept booing the 2014 Puskas Award winner during his speech.
However, Zlatan responded in his own style and hit back at the booing fans during his retirement speech. Zlatan said, "Keep booing. This is the biggest moment in your year seeing me." In his speech, the five-time Serie A winner also cracked a joke as he said, "I woke up this morning and it was raining, and I thought Even God is crying."
