Former Detroit Pistons guard Isiah Thomas cooked Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors by claiming that Kevin Durant saved their dynasty by winning back-to-back championships after the Warriors blew out a 3-1 lead in the 2016 NBA Finals against the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers.
During Tuesday’s episode of The Draymond Green Show, Isiah Thomas claimed that Durant saved the Warriors' dynasty after one of the biggest collapses in NBA Finals history.
Thomas told Green, "I hope this doesn’t upset you. Before Kevin Durant arrived in Golden State, y’all were on the verge of being remembered as the team that went 73–9 and lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Finals. You were up 3–1 and (it) probably (was) one of the biggest collapses in NBA Finals history.
"Kevin Durant comes that summer and really saves y’all basketball legacy. You win two championships after that. The Golden State Warriors dynasty that you’re going to go into the Hall of Fame on and everything else, it is cemented because if Durant don’t come that summer and you guys are remembered as the 73–9 team, all of your legacies are different."

Kevin Durant joined the Warriors a few months after they lost the 2016 NBA Finals against the Cavaliers. The Warriors went on to win back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018 while they were close to winning their third straight championship with Durant in 2019 against the Toronto Raptors.
After Durant's exit from the Warriors in 2019, the Dub nation won the 2022 NBA championship against the Boston Celtics. However, Thomas still believed that the 'Easy Money Sniper' saved the Warriors' dynasty.
