After the end of IPL 2025, the Test season will begin with the World Test Championship final followed by India’s tour of England. Notably, the Indian team is scheduled to play five Test matches in England from June 20 to August 4. Ahead of the much-awaited Test series, India A team is likely to travel to England and some of the key players of the senior Indian team can also be seen travelling with India A.
As per the reports by PTI, few of the frontline players of Team India could be seen travelling with India A for two four-day matches against England Lions at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury and County Ground in Northampton, respectively. The dates are likely to be May 30 and June 6 for the two matches. Earlier there were also reports coming that Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir will also travel with India A team ahead of the England tour.
Will Karun Nair get a chance in England Tests?
As India are heading towards a five-match Test series in England, the fans are excited to find out if any new face get a chance in the Indian squad. One of the key contenders to get a chance is Karun Nair, who had a memorable domestic season last year. Karun amassed 863 runs from nine matches in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 at an average of 54 with four centuries and two fifties. He is likely to travel with India A team and will be hoping to make a comeback in Indian Test side.
"There is enough time to announce the squad, mostly ahead of the knockouts or just after those matches. You will then get a clear picture as to which players are available by then," a source was quoted as saying by India TV.
