The practice sessions of Kolkata Knight Riders  and Mumbai Indians  were reportedly cancelled due to heavy rain. Shreyas Iyer-led side are set to host five-time IPL champions in the 60th clash of the cash-rich league at the Eden Gardens. The match is slated to take place on May 11, Saturday. KKR are just one victory away from securing their playoff-berth for the season, whereas Mumbai Indians became the first side to get eliminated from the tournament. 

Ahead of the thrilling clash at the Eden Gardens, MI and KKR players were to practice in net sessions. However, the sessions were reportedly called off due to heavy rain. As per reports from RevSportz, practice sessions of both teams were cancelled as it rained heavily in the City of Joy on Thursday, May 9. 

Rohit Sharma won’t be at Mumbai Indians next season: Wasim Akram

Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram claimed that Rohit Sharma would leave Mumbai Indians in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League. Not only this, but Akram also named a franchise he believes the former MI captain should be a part of in the next season. Akram said, “I feel Rohit Sharma won’t be at Mumbai Indians next season. I would love to see Rohit opening for KKR.” 

He added, “Imagine Gauti as mentor, Iyer as captain and Rohit playing as the opening batter. Kolkata will become a very strong batting unit. Rohit bats well on any wicket as he is a great player. It will be good to see him at KKR.”
