Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are the third-most successful team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with three trophies. In 2024, they won their third title under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. This season, their endeavours will be to continue their fierce brand of cricket and defend the title successfully.

5. KKR vs MI in 2019
Back in 2019, when KKR and Mumbai Indians (MI) locked horns at iconic Eden Gardens, cricket fans saw an incredible high-scoring contest. Batting first after losing the toss, Kolkata posted 232 runs on the board and Andre Russell (unbeaten 80 off 40) played a vital part with his bat to help the team reach the score. Chasing the mammoth target, MI fell 34 runs short despite Hardik Pandya’s ruthless 91 off 34.
4. KKR vs LSG in 2024
KKR recorded their fourth-highest team total in IPL in 2024 after racking up 235/6 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their backyard. LSG skipper KL Rahul put Kolkata to bat first and his decision backfired as Sunil Narine wreaked havoc on bowlers and hit 81 runs off just 39 deliveries. KKR’s total shattered the hosts’ confidence as they capitulated on 137 after playing 16.1 overs. Narine won the Player of the Match (POTM) award for his all-round performance (81 off 39 and 1/22 in four overs).
3. KKR vs PBKS in 2018
Kolkata registered their highest IPL 2018 total against PBKS at the Holkar Stadium. PBKS skipper KL Rahul emerged victorious at the toss and invited KKR to bat first. Opener Sunil Narine stepped up and clobbered the bowlers mercilessly. His 75 off 36 put Kolkata in a commanding position. Capitalising the perfect start, skipper Dinesh Karthik also produced a 50-run knock off just 23 balls. Riding on some sensational batting efforts, KKR amassed 245/6 which eventually proved too tall to reach for the home side as they could score only 214 runs in their 20 overs.
2. KKR vs PBKS in 2024
In 2024, KKR scored 261 runs in their 20 overs against PBKS at the iconic Eden Gardens but failed to defend the gigantic score. Jonny Bairstow showcased his batting mettle and took Kolkata’s bowling attack to the cleaners. His unbeaten 108 off just 48 helped the 2014 runners-up to pull off the target in 18.4 overs. Earlier Phil Salt’s 75 off 37 and Sunil Narine’s 71 off 32 helped Shreyas Iyer and his men to post the heavy total on the board. 1. KKR vs DC in 2024
KKR registered their highest team total in 2024 after notching up 272/7 against Delhi in Visakhapatnam. The massive score is also the third-highest total in IPL history. Batting first after winning the toss, Narine did a magnificent job with his bat. His 85 off 39 along with Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s 54 off 27 and Andre Russell’s 41 off 19 helped Kolkata break into record books. KKR won the game by 106 runs and Narine became POTM for his courageous all-round performance (85 off 39 and 1/29 in four overs).
