India's top-order batter KL Rahul recently made a return to international games after recovering from a groin injury which he sustained on the eve of five-match T20Is against South Africa. Post-IPL, Rahul missed large part of national duties due to this injury and then tested positive for COVID-19.
However, KL Rahul led Men in Blue in three-match away ODI series against Zimbabwe and successfully swept the series by winning all three matches. Although, Rahul could not deliver performances up to his reputation during Zimbabwe tour, Indian cricket fans would be expecting a better show from the dynamic batter in upcoming T20 Asia Cup 2022 in UAE.
Fresh development from the life of the Indian cricketer will surely excite all the Rahul fans as his would-be father-in-law and veteran Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty has recently confirmed that his daughter Athiya Shetty and her long-time boyfriend KL Rahul will get married soon.
Notably, KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty have been dating each other from quite some time now and are often spotted together. Sunil Shetty and Athiya Shetty were even spotted in KL Rahul's matches during Indian Premier League where the top-order batter was leading debutant Lucknow Super Giants.
In his latest interaction, Sunil Shetty admitted that marriage is on the cards but the family is waiting for Rahul to get some free time from his tight schedule. "Marriage will happen as soon as kids will get free. Rahul has a busy schedule ahead of him. Asia Cup, World Cup, South African tour, Australia tour. Events like marriage can only happen once both of them have free time. It can happen on rest day," said Bollywood actor.
Speaking of KL Rahul, the Indian batter has been appointed deputy of skipper Rohit Sharma and will kick start his Asia Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28 (Sunday). Rohit Sharma-led Team India will look to defend its Asia Cup title and simultaneously register an iconic hat-trick of wins.
