India is currently playing Pakistan in their Asia Cup 2023 opener in Kandy. While the Men in Blue are coming after their five-day camp in Alur, Bengaluru, the Men in Green are coming after registering a dominating 238-run win over Nepal in the tournament opener in Multan on August 30.
While the Rohit Sharma-led side picked Shardul Thakur over veteran bowler Mohammad Shami, wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul was confirmed to miss out the group stage matches of the continental tournament days prior to the match by head coach Rahul Dravid.

Additionally, it is to be noted that KL Rahul suffered a slight niggle just days ahead of the continental tournament. While he continues to regain fitness, he was last seen practicing with the other members of the side in Alur, Bengaluru.
